Huge game by Henegar boosts Huntsville over Louisiana, 6-1Breland Homes Ice Sat, Jan 30, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Scott Henegar had four goals and two assists to lead the Huntsville Havoc to a 6-1 victory over the Louisiana IceGators. Henegar's first goal came 14:10 into the second period. He then added goals at 7:19 into the third, at 11:35 into the third, and at 18:44 into the third.Louisiana was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Huntsville was able to score four times while on the power play. The Havoc surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Huntsville averages 2.8 goals per game. The Havoc were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 27 penalty minutes. Huntsville put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.8 it averages per game. Huntsville also got a goal from John Lidgett as well. More assists for Huntsville came via Nick Schneider, who had two, Matt Robertson, who had three, and Nolan Kaiser, Joshua Ranalli, Jackson Brewer, Bo Driscoll, and Lindsay LeBlanc, who contributed one each. The IceGators racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Louisiana had been spending in the box. The IceGators relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Alex Hudson, Zac Frischmon and Jake Hauswirth took 13 of the team's 24 shots. Louisiana was led by Jeremy Boyer, who scored the team's only goal. Boyer scored on the power play 13:21 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The IceGators had gotten the advantage when the Havoc's Henegar was sent off for tripping. Austin Daae assisted on the tally. Kevin Genoe recorded 23 saves for Huntsville. For the Havoc, Jeremy Beirnes was ejected from the game. Louisiana's Adam Courchaine stopped 34 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The IceGators registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Team's Dylan Hood and Tyler Barr were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
