The Huntsville Havoc allowed the Louisiana IceGators to net three goals during the second period and fell, 6-1. Jake Hauswirth had two goals to lead Louisiana to victory. Hauswirth's tallies came at 6:12 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Louisiana and on the power play 4:44 into the third to make the score 5-0 Louisiana. The IceGators racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and three majors for 37 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game Louisiana had been spending in the box. The IceGators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Louisiana put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.1 it averages per game. The IceGators surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Louisiana averages 2.5 goals per game. Louisiana also got points from John Daniels, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Dylan Hood, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Louisiana also had goals scored by Geordie Wudrick and Luke Sandler, who each put in one. More assists for Louisiana came via Travis Armstrong, Nicholas Kuqali, Mike Kavanagh, Ben Kramer, and Alex Hudson, who each chipped in one and Brad Bourke and Jeremy Boyer, who contributed two each. Huntsville forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up five minors and three majors for 45 minutes in penalty time. The Havoc surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. With 38 shots on target during the contest, Huntsville exceeded the 24.9 shots it averages per game this year. The Havoc were led by Lindsay LeBlanc, who took one shot. The IceGators' Brad Barone stopped 37 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Louisiana registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Kevin Genoe rejected 23 shots on goal for Huntsville.
