Mississippi RiverKings completes comeback, beats Louisiana, 3-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, Mississippi RiverKings battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Louisiana IceGators.

Mississippi RiverKings never led in the game until netting the game winner. Mississippi RiverKings fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Louisiana's Jeremy Boyer at 17:35 in the second period. Mississippi RiverKings tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Michael Beaudry at 11:36 in the third period. Mississippi RiverKings netted the game winner on the power play at 19:48 in the third period on a goal by Beaudry.

Mississippi RiverKings was led by Matt Harrington, who registered one goal.

With 30 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 21.2 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Troy Polino, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Max Cook, Bryan Dallaire, and Donald Olivieri, who each chipped in one.

The IceGators relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Boyer, Alex Hudson and Tyler Barr took 13 of the team's 23 shots.

More assists for Louisiana came via Zac Frischmon, Ben Kramer, and Jake Hauswirth, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings' Peter Di Salvo stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Mississippi RiverKings incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Adam Courchaine rejected 27 shots on goal for Louisiana. The IceGators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
