The Louisiana IceGators' Matt Robertson scored 1:45 into overtime to beat Mississippi RiverKings, 3-2 (OT). Mississippi RiverKings' power play was ineffective against Louisiana's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The IceGators were led by Robertson, who grabbed one goal. Louisiana put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi RiverKings to score on any of its eight power plays. The IceGators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Louisiana additionally got points from Jake Hauswirth, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Luke Sandler also scored for Louisiana. More assists for Louisiana came via Mike Kavanagh, John Daniels, Blake Hietala, Brad Bourke, and Massimo Lamacchia, who contributed one each. Mississippi RiverKings put 47 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.8 it averages per game. Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Charles Mosey, who had one goal.
