Peoria rides Jacobson to victory over Macon Mayhem, 3-1

The Peoria Rivermen relied on the sparkling performance of David Jacobson in net to grab a 3-1 win against Macon Mayhem.

Peoria was paced by Terrence Wallin, who registered one goal. Wallin scored on the power play 12:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. The Rivermen earned a power play opportunity when Ryan Michel was put in the box for goalie interference. Steve Morra picked up the assist.

With 29 shots on target during the contest, Peoria exceeded the 22.1 shots it averages per game this year.

Others who scored for Peoria included Mark Corbett and Adam Stuart, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Brandon Greenside, Alec Hagaman, Matt Summers, and Ben Oskroba, who contributed one each.

Macon Mayhem put 33 shots on net during the contest, more than the 20.5 it averages per game.

In addition, Macon Mayhem received assists from Jake Trask and Shawn Skelly, who each chipped in one.

David Jacobson made 32 saves for the Rivermen on 33 shots. Peoria incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Garrett Bartus recorded 26 saves for Macon Mayhem. Macon Mayhem incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
