Terrence Wallin netted a hat trick to lead the Peoria Rivermen over the Fayetteville FireAntz, 7-3. Wallin notched his first tally 7:12 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:25 into the first and at 19:36 into the third.Peoria led 6-1 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after. The Rivermen racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with seven minors and two majors for 24 minutes in penalty time. Peoria surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. The Rivermen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Peoria put 27 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.5 it averages per game. The Rivermen outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Peoria averages 3.4 goals per contest. Peoria additionally got points from Chris Wilson, who also tallied one goal and three assists and Steve Morra, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Peoria included Alec Hagaman and Adam Stuart, who scored one goal each. In addition, Peoria received assists from Walker Wintoneak, who had two and Brandon Greenside, Dan Bremner, Daniel Turgeon, and Matt Summers, who contributed one each. The FireAntz were helped by Kyle Gibbons, who had two goals. Gibbons scored the first of his two goals at 10:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Peoria. Nicholas Rivait picked up the assist. Gibbons' next tally made the score 6-2 Peoria with 18:23 left in the second period. Zach Carriveau provided the assist. Fayetteville also got a goal from Derek Elliott as well. More assists for Fayetteville came via Josh McQuade and Brad Plumton, who each chipped in one. Kyle Rank recorded 30 saves for the Rivermen. Peoria registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Parker Van Buskirk took the loss and made seven saves before being replaced by Sean Bonar who made 13 saves.
