Louisiana completes comeback, beats Macon Mayhem, 3-2Macon Centreplex Fri, Jan 01, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Louisiana IceGators climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat Macon Mayhem, 3-2. Louisiana never led in the game until netting the game winner. The IceGators was down 2-0 after a goal by Macon Mayhem's Daniel Gentzler at 14:48 in the first period. Louisiana tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Geordie Wudrick at 8:26 in the second period. The IceGators scored the game winner on the power play at 9:56 in the third period on a goal by Wudrick. Louisiana pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 15 penalty minutes. With 44 shots on target during the contest, the IceGators exceeded the 24.7 shots they average per game this year. Louisiana was helped by Blake Hietala, who finished with one goal. Nicholas Kuqali also scored for Louisiana. Other players who recorded assists for Louisiana were Benjamin Rubin, John Daniels, Dylan Hood, Luke Sandler, Brad Bourke, and Tyler Barr, who contributed one each. Macon Mayhem also got a goal from Nick Grasso as well. More assists for Macon Mayhem came via Jake Trask, who had two and Travis Howe and Shawn Skelly, who each chipped in one. The IceGators' Adam Courchaine stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Louisiana registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Garrett Bartus recorded 41 saves for Macon Mayhem. Macon Mayhem totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play.
