The Knoxville Ice Bears gutted out a close 4-2 win against Mississippi RiverKings.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Corey Fulton at 5:59 of the third period.

Knoxville was sparked by Fulton, who had one goal.

The Ice Bears' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Mississippi RiverKings power plays. Knoxville's defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 10 shots between them.

Knoxville also got points from Todd Hosmer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Knoxville included Andrew Bonazza and Garrett Vermeersch, who each put in one. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Brad Pawlowski, Bret Peppler, Trever Hertz, Doug Reid, Adam Sedlak, and Josh Cousineau, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Ice Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Mississippi RiverKings was below its usual level of shot production, taking 20 shots compared to the 27.2 Mississippi RiverKings averages.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Luke Kasteel, who registered one goal. Kasteel scored 14:46 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Mike Grace assisted on the tally. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Michael Beaudry as well. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Dean Willmott, Charles Mosey, and Leo Thomas, who each chipped in one.
