Corey Banfield netted the deciding goal for the Pensacola Ice Flyers in the shootout as Ice Flyers prevailed over Mississippi RiverKings, 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The Ice Flyers overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Pensacola fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Mississippi RiverKings' Mantha at 18:23 in the first period. The Ice Flyers tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Adam Pawlick at 2:29 in the third period.

Pawlick was all over the ice for Pensacola, as he grabbed two goals in the win.

The Ice Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. With 48 shots on target during the contest, Pensacola exceeded the 29.8 shots it averages per game this year.

More assists for Pensacola came via Cody Dion, Phil Tesoriero, Jeremy Gates, and Caveney, who contributed one each.

Mississippi RiverKings stifled the Ice Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Leo Thomas, who racked up one goal. Thomas scored 10:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Dean Willmott picked up the assist.

Pensacola's John McLean stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Ice Flyers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Garrett Sheehan recorded 45 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
