A stellar performance between the pipes by Garrett Bartus helped Macon Mayhem defeat the Louisiana IceGators, 4-1. Jake Trask was all over the ice for Macon Mayhem, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Trask scored 8:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Macon Mayhem. Jeff Sanders assisted on the tally. Macon Mayhem's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Louisiana power plays. Macon Mayhem additionally got points from Shawn Skelly, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Macon Mayhem included Ryan Michel and Michael Montagna, who scored one goal each. In addition, Macon Mayhem received assists from Matt Robertson, Austin Daae, and Nick Grasso, who each chipped in one. Louisiana was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and two majors for 34 minutes in penalty time. The IceGators surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Louisiana put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.8 it averages per game. The IceGators were led by Alex Hudson, who took five shots. Bartus recorded 28 saves for Macon Mayhem. Macon Mayhem totaled 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Louisiana's starting goalie, Brad Barone, made 16 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Alex Vazzano, who stopped six shots.
