Huntsville erases deficit to stun Knoxville, 3-2

The Knoxville Ice Bears could not hold down the Huntsville Havoc, and Havoc erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 3-2 win.

Huntsville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Havoc was down 2-0 after a goal by Knoxville's Todd Hosmer at 45 seconds in the second period. Huntsville knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Scott Henegar at 4:53 in the third period. The Havoc scored the game winner at 7:44 in the third period on a goal by Henegar.

Huntsville was sparked by Nolan Kaiser, who tallied one goal.

The Havoc stifled the Ice Bears' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. By firing 32 shots on goal, Huntsville exceeded the 28.2 shots it averages per game this year.

Huntsville also got points from Henegar, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Kyle McNeil, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Zach Josepher, Steve Mele, and Will Aide, who contributed one each.

Knoxville relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Doug Reid, Hosmer and Andrew Bonazza took 13 of the team's 21 shots.

In addition, Knoxville received assists from Jason Price, who had one.

Kevin Genoe recorded 19 saves for the Havoc. Huntsville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bryan Hince made 29 saves for the Ice Bears on 32 shots. Knoxville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
