Fayetteville falls to Macon Mayhem in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Daniel Gentzler gave Macon Mayhem a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Fayetteville FireAntz when he scored 3:02 into the extra period.

Macon Mayhem got the win thanks to a great game by Shawn Skelly, who had one goal and two assists. Skelly scored 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Macon Mayhem. Connor P. Toomey provided the assist.

Macon Mayhem put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 24.8 it averages per game.

Macon Mayhem also got points from Gentzler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Macon Mayhem also had goals scored by Vadim Guskov and Austin Daae, who each put in one. More assists for Macon Mayhem came via Jeff Sanders, who had one and Matt Robertson, who had two.

Fayetteville kept Macon Mayhem's goalie busy throughout the game, and Garrett Bartus made 34 saves on 37 shots.

The FireAntz were helped by Kyle Gibbons, who finished with one goal. Gibbons scored 13:33 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Fayetteville. Joe Tolles picked up the assist. Others who scored for Fayetteville included Joseph Manno and Berkley Scott, who scored one goal each. In addition, Fayetteville received assists from Nicholas Rivait, Nick Lazorko, Derek Elliott, Josh McQuade, and Cole Wilson, who each chipped in one.

Macon Mayhem incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Parker Van Buskirk made 28 saves for Fayetteville on 32 shots. The FireAntz incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
