Louisiana downs Fayetteville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Louisiana IceGators' Brad Bourke scored 1:36 into overtime to beat the Fayetteville FireAntz, 4-3 (OT).

Louisiana overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The IceGators trailed 3-1 after a goal by Fayetteville's Nick Lazorko at 11:41 in the third period. Louisiana tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Bourke at 18:11 in the third period.

Bourke had two goals to lead the IceGators to victory.

Louisiana got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The IceGators' offense was clicking better than usual and put 43 shots on goal during the game, better than the 22.6 shots per game they average.

Others who scored for Louisiana included John Daniels and Vladyslav Gavrik, who each put in one. More assists for Louisiana came via Mike Kavanagh, who had two, Jeremy Boyer, who had three, and Dylan Hood, Blake Hietala, and Alex Hudson, who each chipped in one.

The FireAntz excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Fayetteville was led by Josh McQuade, who grabbed one goal and one assist. McQuade scored 2:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fayetteville. Nicholas Rivait picked up the assist. Fayetteville also got a goal from Joseph Manno as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fayetteville were Kyle Gibbons, Tayler Thompson, Brad Plumton, and Parker Van Buskirk, who contributed one each.

Louisiana's Adam Courchaine stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The IceGators ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. Van Buskirk rejected 39 shots on goal for the FireAntz. Fayetteville totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play.
