Huntsville blows out Louisiana, 3-0

The Huntsville Havoc were firing on all cylinders against the Louisiana IceGators, and when the final buzzer sounded Havoc emerged with a 3-0 win.

Huntsville was sparked by John McGinnis, who grabbed one goal. McGinnis scored 19:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Jackson Brewer provided the assist.

The Havoc were below their usual level of shot production, taking 21 shots compared to the 28.5 Huntsville averages. The Havoc's defense was surprisingly good. Huntsville averages 2.4 goals allowed per game.

Huntsville also got points from Brewer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brett Lutes also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Kyle McNeil, who had two and Nick Schneider, John Lidgett, and Jason Popek, who contributed one each.

Louisiana did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The IceGators average 2.5 goals per game.

Louisiana was led by Jake Hauswirth, who took five shots.

Jordan Ruby rejected 20 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Adam Courchaine recorded 18 saves for the IceGators. Louisiana incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
