The Peoria Rivermen and the Louisiana IceGators were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Peoria made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ben Oskroba secured the win for the Rivermen with a goal in the third period. Peoria was led by Oskroba, who grabbed one goal. Oskroba scored on the power play 13:38 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Peoria. The Rivermen had gained a power play chance when Travis Armstrong was whistled for holding. Matt Summers provided the assist. Peoria's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Louisiana power plays. The Rivermen's defensemen were a huge part of the offense, scoring two goals and taking 10 shots. Peoria also got points from Brandon Greenside, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Summers, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Peoria were Garrett Vermeersch, Jake Trask, and Francois Brassard, who each chipped in one. Louisiana was helped by Alex Hudson, who racked up one goal. Hudson scored 18:57 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Nicholas Kuqali picked up the assist. Louisiana also got a goal from Dylan Hood as well. More assists for Louisiana came via Mitchell Stretch, who had one. Francois Brassard made 19 saves for Peoria on 21 shots. The Rivermen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The IceGators' Adam Courchaine stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Louisiana ended with 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The IceGators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Anthony Pisano was ejected from the game.
