Fayetteville holds on for 3-2 win against HuntsvilleCrown Coliseum Sat, Nov 07, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Huntsville Havoc tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Fayetteville FireAntz held on for a 3-2 victory. Fayetteville took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Huntsville storm back on a Scott Henegar goal 19:55 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The FireAntz were led by Austin Daae, who registered one goal. Daae scored 16:56 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Fayetteville. Zach Carriveau picked up the assist. Fayetteville's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled five minors and two majors for 30 minutes in penalty time. The FireAntz had been averaging 25.0 minutes in penalties per game. Fayetteville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Havoc to score on any of their three power plays. Fayetteville also got points from Berkley Scott, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Fayetteville also got a goal from Kyle Gibbons as well. More assists for Fayetteville came via Nicholas Rivait, Josh McQuade, Zac Frischmon, and Brad Bourke, who each chipped in one. The FireAntz were unable to stop Huntsville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Havoc eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Dave Williams also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Stuart Stefan, Nick Schneider, and Kyle McNeil, who contributed one each. Sean Bonar rejected 31 shots on goal for Fayetteville. The FireAntz registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Jordan Ruby recorded 21 saves for Huntsville. The Havoc ended with 38 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
