Macon Mayhem falls to Mississippi RiverKings in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Landers Center Fri, Nov 06, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Mississippi RiverKings pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Macon Mayhem on a clutch goal by Ryan Marcuz. Mississippi RiverKings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Macon Mayhem to score on any of its three power plays. Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Leo Thomas, who grabbed three goals. Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Marcuz, who also registered one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Charles Mosey, who had two and Ian Young, Dean Willmott, and Devin Mantha, who contributed one each. Macon Mayhem excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Macon Mayhem relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as John Schiavo, Lucas LaBelle and Joshua Ranalli took 15 of the team's 27 shots. Macon Mayhem was led by Daniel Gentzler, who had one goal and one assist. Gentzler scored 18:14 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Mississippi RiverKings. Jeff Sanders provided the assist.
