Peter Di Salvo stood on his head and made 27 saves to lead Mississippi RiverKings to a 2-1 victory over the Peoria Rivermen.

Mississippi RiverKings pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Mississippi RiverKings was paced by Sam Higgins, who tallied one goal. Higgins scored 16:08 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Mississippi RiverKings. Mike Grace assisted on the tally.

Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Peoria power plays. Mississippi RiverKings' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. With 39 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 32.3 shots it averages per game this year.

Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Dean Willmott as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Devin Mantha and Mark Pustin, who each chipped in one.

Peoria's offense was clicking better than usual and put 28 shots on goal during the game, better than the 23.7 shots per game it averages.

The Rivermen were led by Jake Trask, who scored the team's only goal. Trask scored 5:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria. Alec Hagaman picked up the assist.

Mississippi RiverKings registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Mississippi RiverKings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Reid Campbell was ejected from the game. Kyle Rank recorded 37 saves for Peoria. The Rivermen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
