Jeremy Gates had two goals to lead the Pensacola Ice Flyers Ice Flyers to a 3-1 victory over the Peoria Rivermen Rivermen.

Pensacola Ice Flyers was led by goalie Matt Zenzola, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Zenzola will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

Peoria Rivermen's power play was ineffective against the Ice Flyers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Pensacola Ice Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The defensemen of the Ice Flyers were also effective in the Rivermen's zone, and came away with two goals.

Pensacola Ice Flyers also got a goal from Joseph Holka as well. More assists for Pensacola Ice Flyers came via Mike Krieg, Patrick Divjak, Filip Bjork, and Corey Banfield, who contributed one each.

Peoria Rivermen's offense rang up 36 shots on Pensacola Ice Flyers' net.

The Rivermen were led by Tim Hall, who scored the team's only goal. Hall scored 14:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Peoria Rivermen. Dan Bremner provided the assist.

The Ice Flyers totaled 27 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For Pensacola Ice Flyers, Zach Josepher was ejected from the game.
