M1 Liberty University takes care of M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania early, wins 8-1LaHaye Ice Center Fri, Dec 11, 2015 The M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks fell behind early, and the M1 Liberty University Flames kept piling on the points on the way to an 8-1 victory. Kyle Garcia had a great game for M1 Liberty University, netting two goals. Garcia scored at 7:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Liberty University and again while 11:40 into the first to make the score 3-0 M1 Liberty University. The Flames were led by goalie Cary Byron, who finished with 32 saves while allowing one goal. Byron certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.06 entering the contest. M1 Liberty University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania to score on any of its five power plays. The Flames' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, M1 Liberty University averages 3.5 goals per contest. The Flames could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. With 47 shots on target during the contest, M1 Liberty University exceeded the 14.2 shots it averages per game this year. M1 Liberty University also got points from Zane Schartz, who also had one goal and two assists and Danny Logan, who also registered one goal and one assist. M1 Liberty University also got a goal from Grant Garvin as well. More assists for M1 Liberty University came via Robert Ward, who had three, Steven Bellew, Owen Harris, and Kyle Miller, who contributed one each, and Chase Harris and Tyson Street, who each chipped in two. The Crimson Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. M1 Indiana Univ of Pennsylvania's offense rang up 33 shots on the Flames' net. The Crimson Hawks were led by Tanner Gilliland, who took two shots. M1 Liberty University registered three goals on six power play opportunities. Robert Stock took the loss and made 36 saves before being replaced by Austin Moody who made three saves.
