M1 Liberty University rolls over M1 Rutgers University, 6-1

The M1 Liberty University Flames were firing on all cylinders against the M1 Rutgers University Scarlet Knights, and when the final buzzer sounded Flames emerged with a 6-1 win.

Chase Harris was all over the ice for M1 Liberty University, as he finished with two goals in the win. Harris' tallies came on the power play at 9:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Liberty University and on the power play 13:24 into the third to make the score 6-1 M1 Liberty University.

The Flames excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. M1 Liberty University surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Flames have scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. M1 Liberty University relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 18 shots. With 38 shots on target during the contest, the Flames exceeded the 15.5 shots they average per game this year.

M1 Liberty University additionally got points from Tyson Street, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Robert Ward, who also had two goals and one assist. M1 Liberty University also got a goal from Kyle Garcia as well. More assists for M1 Liberty University came via Grant Garvin, who had three and Zechariah Roberts, Peter Shantz, Kyle Miller, and Paul Lamoureux, who each chipped in one.

M1 Rutgers University was held below its usual level of production. The Scarlet Knights average 3.4 goals per game. By firing 25 shots on goal, M1 Rutgers University exceeded the 5.2 shots it averages per game this year. The Scarlet Knights' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as M1 Rutgers University finished with 26 penalty minutes.

The Scarlet Knights were led by Brenden Siegel, who scored the team's only goal. Siegel scored 15:25 into the first period to make the score 2-1 M1 Liberty University. Tyler Rule assisted on the tally.

Cary Byron rejected 24 shots on goal for M1 Liberty University. The Flames incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Christopher Marsillo recorded 32 saves for M1 Rutgers University.
