Huge game by Hall boosts M1 Stony Brook University over M1 Liberty University, 8-5

Behind a great game by JT Hall, who had one goal and six assists, the M1 Stony Brook University Seawolves defeated the M1 Liberty University Flames, 8-5.

Hall beat Matthew Pinel with a shot 12:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Justin Lazalde assisted on the tally. Hall dished an assist on Tyler Underhill's goal that made the score 2-2 at 4:06 into the second period. He then added assists on Lazalde's goal at 6:31 into the second, on Eddie Osowski's goal at 9:55 into the second, on Lazalde's goal at 16:42 into the third, on Lazalde's goal at 19:13 into the third, and on Underhill's goal at 19:36 into the third.

M1 Stony Brook University's goal total was higher than its season average. The Seawolves average 5.5 goals per game. M1 Stony Brook University gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Seawolves average 2.4 goals allowed per game. M1 Stony Brook University capitalized on M1 Liberty University's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage. The Seawolves' defensemen also contributed in the offensive zone and ended up with 14 shots between them. M1 Stony Brook University's offense was clicking better than usual and put 34 shots on goal during the game, better than the 6.0 shots per game it averages.

M1 Stony Brook University additionally got points from Lazalde, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Underhill, who also racked up two goals and one assist. M1 Stony Brook University also got a goal from Brendan Calello as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Stony Brook University were Frank Sherding, who had two and John Defeo and Andrew Cetola, who each chipped in one.

In addition, M1 Liberty University received assists from Steven Bellew, Ben Hughes, Kyle Garcia, and Danny Logan, who contributed one each and Tyson Street and Kyle Miller, who each chipped in two.

Todd Scarola recorded 22 saves for M1 Stony Brook University. The Seawolves incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cary Byron made 22 saves before being replaced by Pinel, who took the loss and made four saves. The Flames incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
