Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Ian Dykstra's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. The Tigers were led by Dykstra, who registered one goal and one assist. Dykstra scored 18:10 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Towson University. Nicholas Bickerstaff assisted on the tally. In the losing effort, M1 Temple University was sparked by Dan Nucero, who racked up two goals. In addition, M1 Towson University received assists from Chris Szoka and Ryan Buccigrossi, who each chipped in one. M1 Temple University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five M1 Towson University power plays. More assists for M1 Temple University came via Joey Powell, who had one. Tyler Stewardson made 28 saves for M1 Towson University on 30 shots. The Tigers ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. M1 Towson University ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matthew Mcguire was ejected from the game. Salamon recorded 36 saves for M1 Temple University. M1 Temple University incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
