M1 Temple University holds on for 2-1 win against M1 Villanova University

M1 Temple University survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Villanova University Wildcats on the way to a 2-1 win.

A goal by Dan Nucero put M1 Temple University up 2-0 in the second period, but M1 Villanova University pulled to within one on Matthew Brizzi's tally 2:13 into the third period.

M1 Temple University's penalty kill excelled, as M1 Temple University gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

M1 Temple University forced the Wildcats' netminders to work all game long, firing 33 shots and forcing 31 saves. Nathaniel Brose made 22 stops and Sean Barrett made nine. M1 Temple University stifled M1 Villanova University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. M1 Temple University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Temple University also got a goal from Stephen Kennedy as well. More assists for M1 Temple University came via Eric Graham, Ryan Dumbach, and James Milanesi, who each chipped in one.

The Wildcats' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as M1 Villanova University finished with 18 penalty minutes.

Other players who recorded assists for M1 Villanova University were Nicholas Schultz and Chris Sabanos, who contributed one each.
