M2 Saint Josephs University uses early goal to top M2 George Washington University, 3-1

M2 Saint Josephs University beat the M2 George Washington University Colonials, 3-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

M2 Saint Josephs University took over the lead for good with a goal by Eddie Markowski at 43 seconds in the first period. M2 Saint Josephs University had taken the advantage when M2 George Washington University's Alexander Katsihtis got sent off for hooking. Matt Ditosto picked up the assist.

Markowski was all over the ice for M2 Saint Josephs University, as he had two goals in the win.

M2 Saint Josephs University was led by goalie Christopher DAlessio, who finished with 44 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of DAlessio will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 4.53.

M2 Saint Josephs University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six M2 George Washington University power plays. M2 Saint Josephs University kept the Colonials' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dylan Cleary made 40 saves on 43 shots. M2 Saint Josephs University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M2 Saint Josephs University also got a goal from Ryley Harper as well. Other players who recorded assists for M2 Saint Josephs University were Dean Keeney, who had three.
