Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as M1 Indiana Tech defeated M1 Midland University in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

M1 Indiana Tech overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. M1 Indiana Tech trailed 2-1 after a goal by M1 Midland University's Ben Henry at 9:00 in the second period. M1 Indiana Tech tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Giuseppe Molfetta at 18:51 in the second period.

M1 Indiana Tech put 44 shots on net during the contest, more than the 12.6 it averages per game.

M1 Indiana Tech was helped by Jonak, who registered one goal. Jonak scored 6:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Indiana Tech. More assists for M1 Indiana Tech came via Brian Skillicorn and Zachary Morlock, who each chipped in one.
