M1 Western Michigan University wins tough contest against M1 Rochester College, 3-2Lawson Arena Fri, Feb 12, 2016 The M1 Western Michigan University Stallions gutted out a close 3-2 win against the M1 Rochester College Warriors. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jesse Cameron secured the win for M1 Western Michigan University with a goal in the third period. The Stallions were led by Cameron, who registered one goal and one assist. Cameron scored 19:51 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Western Michigan University. Zach Mudge picked up the assist. M1 Western Michigan University kept M1 Rochester College's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zakk Olvin made 32 saves on 35 shots. M1 Western Michigan University also got points from Mike Moroso, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Matthew Williams also scored for M1 Western Michigan University. More assists for M1 Western Michigan University came via Colin Tittle, Cole Kapovich, and Casey O doherty, who contributed one each. By firing 36 shots on goal, the Warriors exceeded the 0.7 shots they average per game this year. M1 Rochester College was led by Michael DiFranco, who tallied one goal and one assist. DiFranco scored 16:20 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M1 Rochester College. Brock Malatches provided the assist. M1 Rochester College also got a goal from Jake Zarzycki as well. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Dakota Olvin and Matteo Mazur, who each chipped in one. Brandon Haase recorded 34 saves for the Stallions. M1 Western Michigan University avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays. The Warriors ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
