M1 Western Michigan University beats M1 Rochester College 5-4 after comeback scareLawson Arena Sun, Oct 04, 2015 The M1 Rochester College Warriors tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Western Michigan University Stallions held on for a 5-4 victory. A goal by Zach Mudge put M1 Western Michigan University up 5-3 in the third period, but M1 Rochester College pulled to within one on Christopher Williford's tally 11:48 into the third period. Casey O doherty was all over the ice for the Stallions, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. O doherty scored the first of his two goals at 3:47 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Western Michigan University. Mudge assisted on the tally. O doherty's next tally made the score 4-2 M1 Western Michigan University with 14:48 left in the second period. Matt Shultz picked up the assist. M1 Western Michigan University forced the Warriors goalie Zakk Olvin to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. M1 Western Michigan University additionally got points from Shultz, who also registered one goal and one assist and Mudge, who also racked up two goals and one assist. In addition, M1 Western Michigan University received assists from Matthew Williams, who had three and Carson Malinowski, Cole Kapovich, and Jared Vincek, who contributed one each. The Stallions were unable to stop M1 Rochester College from sending pucks towards the net, and the Warriors eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. M1 Rochester College also got points from Brian Fonseca, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Tj Burns, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Matt Kadolph also scored for M1 Rochester College. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Rochester College were Shawn Adam, who had one. Myles Madden made 36 saves for M1 Western Michigan University on 40 shots. The Stallions avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Olvin recorded 38 saves for M1 Rochester College. The Warriors ended with no penalties and went 2-for-0 on the power play.
