M1 Western Michigan University holds on for 4-2 win against M1 Indiana Tech

M1 Indiana Tech tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but the M1 Western Michigan University Stallions held on for a 4-2 victory.

M1 Western Michigan University made the score 4-1 on a goal by Jesse Cameron at 1:36 in the third period, and M1 Indiana Tech got as close as 4-2 when Adam Jonak scored 16:14 into the third period.

The Stallions forced M1 Indiana Tech's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. John Slavik made six stops and Zach Larson made 25.

M1 Western Michigan University was led by Matthew Williams, who registered one goal and one assist. Williams scored 10:04 into the first period to make the score 3-0 M1 Western Michigan University. Casey O doherty assisted on the tally. M1 Western Michigan University also had goals scored by Cole Kapovich and Adam Beuthin, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Western Michigan University received assists from Mitch Rogowski, Declan Hartnett, Jacob Taiariol, and Zach Mudge, who each chipped in one.

M1 Indiana Tech was held below its usual level of production. M1 Indiana Tech puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. With 42 shots on target during the contest, M1 Indiana Tech exceeded the 12.3 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Indiana Tech also got a goal from Jace Childs as well. More assists for M1 Indiana Tech came via Ryan Attwood, Jarrett Pfeiffer, and Giuseppe Molfetta, who contributed one each.

The Stallions' Will Massey stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced. M1 Western Michigan University avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of zero power plays. M1 Indiana Tech finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage.
