Lambton Shores erases deficit to stun Pelham, 6-5

The Lambton Shores Predators rallied from two goals down to secure a 6-5 win over the Pelham Panthers.

Lambton Shores never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Predators trailed 5-3 after a goal by Pelham's Adam Petric at 3:08 in the third period. Lambton Shores knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Colin Burns at 16:44 in the third period. The Predators got the game winner at 18:59 in the third period on a goal by Burns.

Ethan Sarfati was all over the ice for Lambton Shores, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Sarfati scored the first of his two goals at 15:11 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Pelham. Sean Ross provided the assist. Sarfati's next tally made the score 5-4 Pelham with 12:39 left in the third period. Ross assisted on the tally.

The Predators' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Pelham power plays. Lambton Shores forced the Panthers goalie Stephen Harvey to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Predators bested their season scoring average. This season, Lambton Shores averages 3.3 goals per contest.

Lambton Shores additionally got points from Ryan Fraser, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Ross, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Brenden Trottier as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Marcel Berube, who had three and Connor Merritt and Ben Woo, who contributed one each.

Pelham put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Predators to score on any of their seven power plays. The Panthers' offense rang up 32 shots on Lambton Shores' net. Pelham surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Panthers average 2.5 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Pelham also got points from Hunter Swain, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pelham included London Murray and Cameron DeFazio, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pelham received assists from Thomas Young, who had two and Marcus Brydon, Jesse Burger, Synee Coonishish, and Brandon MacKinnon, who each chipped in one.

Anthony Hurtubise recorded 27 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Pelham's Harvey stopped 32 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
