Niagara Falls rolls over Pelham, 9-1

The Pelham Panthers had trouble finding ways to stop the Niagara Falls Canucks, which beat Panthers, 9-1.

Peter Falivena was all over the ice for Niagara Falls, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Falivena scored the first of his two goals at 16:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Thomas Flack picked up the assist. Falivena's next tally made the score 9-1 Niagara Falls with 3:27 left in the third period. Flack provided the assist.

The Canucks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Pelham power plays. Pelham was unable to stop Niagara Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canucks eventually piled up 59 shots on goal. Niagara Falls' goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Canucks average 4.0 goals per contest. Niagara Falls' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

Niagara Falls additionally got points from Sean Farquharson, who also had one goal and three assists and Matthew Baldinelli, who also racked up two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Niagara Falls also had goals scored by Taggart Ledyard, Frank Pucci, Kevin Boyd, and Luke Laurin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Zack Lansfield, Cristian DiFonzo, and Matthew Marsden, who each chipped in one and Austin Bottrell and Cesare Caldaroni, who contributed two each.

The Panthers found themselves short handed often, totaling 22 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

The Canucks' Adam Dentico stopped 18 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Niagara Falls ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Canucks, Pucci was ejected from the game. Tyler Caruana recorded 50 saves for Pelham. Team's Mitch Rossit and Mathiau Young were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
