Jackson's hat trick boosts St. Catharines over Pelham, 10-0

The Pelham Panthers could not stop the St. Catharines Falcons' Tyler Jackson, who tallied a hat trick in a 10-0 win.

Jackson's first goal came 18:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:47 into the second and at 16:58 into the second.

The game was close after the first frame, but St. Catharines banged in four goals during the second period to put the victory out of reach for Pelham.

The Falcons forced the Panthers' goaltenders to work without much rest, launching 47 shots and forcing 37 saves. Stephen Harvey made 31 stops and Tyler Caruana made six. St. Catharines' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pelham power plays. The Falcons' defensive play was more effective than usual against Pelham. St. Catharines gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. The Falcons' goal total was higher than their season average. St. Catharines has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Tyler Hildebrandt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Jake Evans, Ty Learn, and Owen Green, who scored two goals each. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Justin Felker, Romaeo D`Intino, Aaron St. Pierre, Bailey Sowrey, and Brady Lee, who each chipped in one and Mitchell Webb, Brandon Cercone, Nicholas Dozzi, Brandon Vuic, and Anthony Postiglione, who contributed two each.

The Panthers were held below their usual level of production. Pelham averages 2.1 goals per game.

Cameron Gray rejected 22 shots on goal for the Falcons. St. Catharines incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Panthers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Pelham ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Liam Little was ejected from the game.
