Listowel blows out Stratford, 6-3

The Listowel Cyclones were firing on all cylinders against the Stratford Cullitons, and when the final buzzer sounded Cyclones emerged with a 6-3 win.

Listowel got the win thanks to a great game by Brady Anderson, who had one goal and two assists. Anderson scored on the power play 6:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. The Cyclones had gained a power play chance when Joe Leahy was whistled for slashing. Keaton Willis assisted on the tally.

Listowel's penalty kill excelled, as the Cyclones gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

Listowel found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Cyclones average 3.9 goals per contest.

Tim Nauta also scored for Listowel. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Jamie Huber, who had three and Scott Pedersen, Blake Pickering, Kade Landry, Blake Nichol, and Holdyn Lansink, who each chipped in one.

Listowel was unable to stop Stratford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cullitons eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Stratford was helped by Drew Gross, who tallied one goal. Gross scored on the power play 30 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Listowel. Jared Nash picked up the assist. Others who scored for Stratford included Tristan Hohl and Tanner Hertel, who each put in one. In addition, Stratford received assists from Deven Kropf, Jack Scanlan, Rob Grant, and Josh Miller, who contributed one each.

Tyler Fassl rejected 40 shots on goal for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Cyclones ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Willis was ejected from the game. Alexander Brooks-Potts made 24 saves for the Cullitons on 29 shots. Stratford incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
