Brown's big game bests Pelham in 17-1 Caledonia win

The Caledonia Corvairs' Jake Brown had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 17-1 win over the Pelham Panthers.

Brown scored at 13:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia and again while 11:39 into the second to make the score 6-0 Caledonia.

Caledonia stifled Pelham's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Panthers were unable to stop the Corvairs from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledonia eventually piled up 103 shots on goal. The Corvairs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Caledonia averages 5.9 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Caledonia also got points from Blake Luscombe, who also grabbed three goals and two assists, Matt McCartney, who also registered one goal and three assists, Chadd Bauman, who also had two goals and two assists, Tyler Hill, who also racked up two goals and four assists to lead the team in points, Corey Pawley, who also tallied two goals and two assists, Tait Seguin, who also registered two goals and two assists, and Matthew Hore, who also had two goals and two assists. Quentin Maksimovich also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Jacob Bianchi, who had two, Austin Brown, who had five, Ryan Moran and Ryan Punkari, who contributed one each, and Mitch Graham and Jordan Brown, who each chipped in three.

Pelham's offense was handcuffed by the Corvairs' defensive play, and the Panthers managed only 14 shots on goal during the game. Pelham struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Caledonia to score two power play goals on three chances.

Liam Conway recorded 13 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stephen Harvey made 86 saves for the Panthers on 103 shots. Pelham incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
