The St. Catharines Falcons survived a determined comeback attempt by the Ancaster Avalanche on the way to a 3-2 win.

St. Catharines made the score 3-1 on a goal by Tyler Hildebrandt at 14:48 in the third period, and Ancaster got as close as 3-2 when Michael Pollice scored 18:44 into the third period.

The Falcons' penalty kill excelled, as St. Catharines gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Falcons' offense rang up 32 shots on the Avalanche's net. St. Catharines cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances. The Falcons were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 34 penalty minutes.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Nicholas Dozzi, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Catharines also got a goal from Broderick Kelly as well.
