LaSalle rips St. Marys, 11-2

The St. Marys Lincolns had trouble finding ways to stop the LaSalle Vipers, which beat Lincolns, 11-2.

Brett Primeau had two goals and one assist to lead LaSalle. Primeau scored the first of his two goals at 12:18 into the first period to make the score 3-1 LaSalle. Daniel Beaudoin assisted on the tally. Primeau's next tally made the score 10-2 LaSalle with 7:35 left in the third period. Nolan Gardiner picked up the assist.

St. Marys' power play was ineffective against the Vipers' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

LaSalle's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The Vipers surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. LaSalle forced the Lincolns' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 47 shots and forcing 36 saves. Emanuel Vella made 10 stops and Paul Town made 26. The Vipers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. LaSalle outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Vipers average 4.2 goals per contest.

LaSalle additionally got points from Eric Kirby, who also had one goal and one assist, Nathan Savage, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Gardiner, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Tyler Russell, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Manny Silverio, who also had one goal and one assist. LaSalle also had goals scored by Ryan Sarris and Maddux Rychel, who each put in one. More assists for LaSalle came via Connor Matton, who had one, Nathan Veres, who had four, and Zack Hoffman, Cale Allen, and Liam MacDougall, who contributed two each.

St. Marys was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and one major for 55 minutes in penalty time. The Lincolns had been averaging 15.0 minutes in penalties per game.

St. Marys was helped by Graham Brulotte, who registered one goal. Brulotte scored 4:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nathan Smith provided the assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Phillip Buque as well. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Tristan Gallant, Dan Cloutier, and Brent House, who each chipped in one.

Paolo Battisti rejected 26 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers registered two goals on nine power play opportunities. For LaSalle, Beaudoin was ejected from the game. The Lincolns ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Colin Capstick was ejected from the game.
