Strathroy downs Lambton Shores in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Strathroy Rockets pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Lambton Shores Predators on a clutch goal by Dalton Good.

Strathroy got the win behind a great game by Shane Bulitka, who had two goals and one assist. Bulitka scored the first of his two goals at 13:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Max Ewart provided the assist. Bulitka's next tally made the score 3-1 Strathroy with 16:49 left in the second period. Ewart picked up the assist.

The Rockets forced Lambton Shores' goaltenders to work all game long, ripping 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Anthony Hurtubise made 16 stops and Keegan Paulette made 17. Strathroy stifled the Predators' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Rockets outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Strathroy averages 2.8 goals per contest.

Strathroy also got points from Good, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Ewart, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Lucas Latina, who also registered one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Matthew Stevens as well. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Dante Copps and TJ Harris, who each chipped in one and Wesley Kelly and Noah Tooke, who contributed two each.

Lambton Shores forced Rockets' goalies to work without much rest, taking 41 shots and forcing 36 saves. Dan Davies made 15 stops and Dane Gubbels made 21. The Predators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Lambton Shores was led by Ethan Sarfati, who had three goals and one assist. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Colin Burns, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mike Zottl also scored for Lambton Shores. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Connor Merritt, Franco Sproviero, Marcel Berube, Matthew Philip, and Andrew Kim, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Predators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
