Caledonia rolls over Fort Erie, 5-1

The Caledonia Corvairs had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Fort Erie Meteors.

Caledonia was led by Daniel Volpe, who tallied one goal. Volpe scored on the power play 16:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. The Corvairs had taken the advantage when Fort Erie's Manny Manns got sent off for high sticking. Tyler Hill provided the assist.

Caledonia kept the Meteors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brayden Lachance made 50 saves on 55 shots.

Caledonia also got points from Austin Brown, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Hill, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Caledonia included Blake Luscombe and Tait Seguin, who scored one goal each. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Matt McCartney, Quentin Maksimovich, and Jake Brown, who each chipped in one and Corey Pawley and Todd Ratchford, who contributed two each.

Fort Erie did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Meteors put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game.

Mark Sinclair made 23 saves for the Corvairs on 24 shots. Caledonia totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. The Corvairs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jordan Brown was ejected from the game. Fort Erie incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
