Listowel rolls over Waterloo, 8-2

The Waterloo Siskins had trouble finding ways to stop the Listowel Cyclones, which beat Siskins, 8-2.

Jamie Huber had one goal and two assists to lead Listowel. Huber scored 3:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Jordan Caskenette picked up the assist.

The Cyclones forced Waterloo's goalies to work between the pipes, firing 45 shots and forcing 37 saves. Bailey DeGasperis made 18 stops and Mitchell Datz made 19. Listowel surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Cyclones average 3.8 goals per contest.

Listowel also got points from Brady Anderson, who also registered two goals and one assist, Jakob Lee, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Max Coyle, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Caskenette, who also had one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, and Holdyn Lansink, who also registered one goal and one assist. Listowel also got a goal from Blake Pickering as well. In addition, Listowel received assists from Tim Nauta, who had two and Riley Robertson, Kade Landry, Ray McFalls, Corey Flemington, and Chayse Herrfort, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins kept Listowel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Fassl made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Waterloo was helped by Ryan Sparkes, who finished with one goal and one assist. Sparkes scored 9:11 into the third period to make the score 7-2 Listowel. Jared Lindsay assisted on the tally. Waterloo additionally got points from Lindsay, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Matt Bourbeau and Brett Schaefer, who contributed one each.

The Cyclones totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Listowel ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Keaton Willis was ejected from the game. The Siskins totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Waterloo, Joel Penticost was ejected from the game.
