Ferreira nets hat trick, leads London to 7-4 win over LaSalle

Tanner Ferreira lifted the London Nationals to a 7-4 victory with a hat trick against the LaSalle Vipers.

Ferreira notched his first tally 14:45 into the second period. He then added goals at 5:49 into the third and at 19:33 into the third.

London's offense rang up 33 shots on LaSalle's net. The Nationals outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, London averages 4.1 goals per contest.

London additionally got points from John Warren, who also racked up one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for London included Eric Guest, Kevin Madden, and Colin Wilson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for London were Isaiah Payne, Callum Ruddock, Scott Goodman, Rai Di Loreto, and Max Vinogradov, who contributed one each.

The Vipers kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Zack Weir made 34 saves on 38 shots.

LaSalle was helped by Eric Kirby, who racked up two goals. Kirby scored the first of his two goals at 42 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Kirby's next tally made the score 6-4 London with 40 seconds left in the third period. The Vipers had gotten the advantage when London's Madden was sent off for bench / coach. Nikko Sablone assisted on the tally. LaSalle also got points from Tyler Russell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Manny Silverio, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Liam MacDougall, Nolan Gardiner, and Blake Jones, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For London, Ruddock was ejected from the game. Eli Billing rejected 26 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
