The St. Catharines Falcons and the Welland Jr. Canadians skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

St. Catharines and Welland could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Falcons forced the Jr. Canadians goalie Brandon McCorriston to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

St. Catharines was helped by Ty Learn, who registered one goal. Learn scored 2:59 into the third period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. Brandon Vuic picked up the assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Tyler Jackson as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Phillip Chadder, Nicholas Dozzi, and Brady Lee, who contributed one each.

Welland's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Catharines power plays. The Falcons were unable to stop the Jr. Canadians from sending pucks towards the net, and Welland eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

The Jr. Canadians were helped by Bradey Johnson, who finished with one goal. Johnson scored 8:35 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Caleb Ambrosio assisted on the tally. Max Cipriano also scored for Welland. In addition, Welland received assists from Nathan Ferris, Chad Maurice, and Brayden Crowder, who each chipped in one.

Cameron Gray rejected 32 shots on goal for St. Catharines. The Falcons incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For St. Catharines, Jake Evans was ejected from the game. McCorriston recorded 43 saves for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
