Caledonia blows out Pelham, 11-2

The Caledonia Corvairs were firing on all cylinders against the Pelham Panthers, and when the final buzzer sounded Corvairs emerged with an 11-2 win.

Corey Pawley had one goal and five assists to lead Caledonia. Pawley scored 25 seconds into the second period to make the score 5-1 Caledonia. Matthew Hore assisted on the tally.

The Corvairs' penalty kill excelled, as Caledonia gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

The Corvairs forced Pelham goalie Tyler Caruana to work between the pipes, taking 63 shots. Caledonia found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Corvairs have scored at the pace of 5.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The defensemen of Caledonia were also effective in the Panthers' zone, and came away with two goals.

Caledonia additionally got points from Austin Brown, who also had one goal and one assist, Mitchell Fitzmorris, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Quentin Maksimovich, who also registered one goal and two assists, Jake Brown, who also tallied three goals and one assist, and Hore, who also had two goals and three assists. Caledonia also had goals scored by Michael Arch and Nick Zottl, who scored one goal each. More assists for Caledonia came via Jacob Bianchi, Jonathan Pace, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each and Mitch Graham and Chadd Bauman, who each chipped in two.

Pelham was helped by Mathiau Young, who racked up one goal. Young scored on the power play 6:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Panthers had gotten the advantage when the Corvairs' Zottl was sent off for interference. Riley Hollowell provided the assist. Pelham also got points from Hollowell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Pelham were Mitch Rossit, Thomas Young, and Zachary Plumb, who contributed one each.

Zach Moore made 27 saves for Caledonia on 29 shots. The Corvairs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Caruana recorded 52 saves for Pelham. The Panthers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
