McGeen's hat trick boosts Chatham over St. Marys, 8-3Chatham Memorial Arena Sun, Dec 13, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Teddy McGeen was the highlight in Maroons' 8-3 win against the St. Marys Lincolns. McGeen notched his first tally 13:19 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:54 into the third and at 7:25 into the third.The Chatham Maroons forced St. Marys' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 52 shots and forcing 44 saves. Paul Town made 41 stops and Kyle Morning made three. Chatham's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Marys power plays. The Maroons bested their season scoring average. This season, Chatham averages 4.5 goals per contest. Chatham also got points from Gus Ford, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Austin Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist, Mark Fratarcangelli, who also registered one goal and two assists, Steven Beenackers, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Ian Faubert, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Connor Koviak, who had three and Aaron Jacobs, Ross Krieger, and Blair Derynck, who contributed one each. The Lincolns stifled the Maroons' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. St. Marys forced Chatham goalie Parker Butler to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Lincolns were helped by Jeff Schrattner, who had one goal and one assist. Schrattner scored 15:02 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Chatham. Brody Smith assisted on the tally. St. Marys additionally got points from Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist. Brent House also scored for St. Marys. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Nolan King, Jordan Winter, Nick Whitworth, and Nathan Smith, who each chipped in one. Parker Butler made 32 saves for the Maroons on 35 shots. Chatham incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. St. Marys incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
