Fort Erie uses fast start to beat Pelham, 11-4

The Fort Erie Meteors jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Pelham Panthers, 11-4.

Fort Erie got the win behind a great game by Holden Garlent, who had one goal and five assists. Garlent scored 5:05 into the third period to make the score 9-4 Fort Erie. Manny Manns assisted on the tally.

Pelham's five penalties came back to haunt it, as the Panthers let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

The Meteors forced Panthers' goalies to work between the pipes, firing 38 shots and forcing 27 saves. Stephen Harvey made 13 stops and Jarrett Moore made 14. Fort Erie bested its season scoring average. The Meteors average 3.3 goals per game. Fort Erie's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Fort Erie also got points from Bryce Martin, who also finished with two goals and two assists, Frankie Franck, who also registered one goal and one assist, Ben Evans, who also had one goal and two assists, Danial Singer, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and Manns, who also tallied three goals and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Dakota Miskolczi as well. More assists for Fort Erie came via Troy Henley, who had two, Anthony Passero, who had five, and Tristan Drescher and Cody Petawabano, who each chipped in one.

Riley Daniels made 19 saves for the Meteors on 23 shots. Fort Erie incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pelham totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Panthers, Spencer Comelli was ejected from the game.
