Huge game by Stokes boosts Guelph over Brantford, 6-2

The Guelph Hurricanes' Cameron Stokes had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-2 win over the Brantford 99ers.

Stokes got on the board by slotting home a goal 26 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Guelph. Brody Milne provided the assist. Stokes dished an assist on Corson Searles's goal that made the score 4-2 Guelph at 7:39 into the third period. He added another helper on Searles' goal that made the score 6-2 Guelph at 17:35 into the third period.

Guelph's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Brantford power plays. The Hurricanes found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Guelph averages 3.9 goals per game.

Guelph additionally got points from Searles, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and Milne, who also registered one goal and one assist. Guelph also had goals scored by Stefano Pezzetta and Ryan Waterhouse, who scored one goal each. More assists for Guelph came via Chris Poletek, who had three and Sebastian Stangherlin, Ryan Migliaccio, and Dylan Wallace, who contributed one each.

Brantford stifled the Hurricanes' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The 99ers were helped by Brett Parsons, who finished with one goal. Parsons scored 15:57 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Isaac Nurse assisted on the tally. Brantford also got a goal from Christian Polillo as well. In addition, Brantford received assists from Jay Dekker, who had one and Nicholas Durajlija, who had two.

Jason DaSilva made 27 saves for Guelph on 29 shots. The Hurricanes totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors and went 0-for-3 on the power play. Team's Migliaccio, Ryan Burns, and Cameron Palmer were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Will Rawski rejected 18 shots on goal for Brantford. The 99ers ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and three majors. For Brantford, Justin Donnelly, Alec Tiley, and Parsons were ejected from the contest.
