Lane nets hat trick, leads Kitchener to 7-2 win over Brampton

A hat trick by Owen Lane was the highlight in Dutchmen's 7-2 win against the Brampton Bombers.

Lane notched his first tally 14:17 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:52 into the second and at 13:59 into the second.

The Kitchener Dutchmen's offense rang up 44 shots on Brampton's net. Kitchener surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Dutchmen average 4.9 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Kitchener also had goals scored by Matthew Cruickshank, who had two and Austin Gaboury and Connor Cole, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Mark Bzowey, who had two, Logan Schmidt, Marselis Subban, Ryan George, and Alex Demrovsky, who contributed one each, and Adam Kawalec and Jeremy Kuehn, who each chipped in three.

Luke Richardson rejected 25 shots on goal for Kitchener. The Dutchmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jason Rhynold made 37 saves for the Bombers on 44 shots. Brampton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
