Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Chayse Herrfort's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Listowel was led by Herrfort, who had one goal. Herrfort scored 17:28 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Listowel. Ben Shelley provided the assist.

The Cyclones stifled Elmira's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Listowel's offense rang up 35 shots on the Sugar Kings' net.

Listowel also had goals scored by Caleb Warren and Tim Nauta, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Austin Huizenga, Holdyn Lansink, and Jamie Huber, who each chipped in one.

Elmira's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Listowel power plays. The Cyclones were unable to stop the Sugar Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Elmira eventually piled up 51 shots on goal.
