Hore nets hat trick, leads Caledonia to 9-0 win over Fort Erie

Matthew Hore netted a hat trick to lead the Caledonia Corvairs over the Fort Erie Meteors, 9-0.

Hore got on the scoresheet 1:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:59 into the second and at 7:46 into the third.

Caledonia's penalty kill excelled, as the Corvairs gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Caledonia stifled Fort Erie's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Meteors were unable to stop the Corvairs from sending pucks towards the net, and Caledonia eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. The Corvairs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Caledonia averages 6.0 goals per game. The Corvairs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Caledonia also got points from Blake Luscombe, who also had one goal and three assists, Ryan Punkari, who also registered one goal and two assists, Daniel Volpe, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Corey Pawley, who also racked up one goal and three assists, and Tait Seguin, who also had one goal and one assist. Quentin Maksimovich also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Matt McCartney, who had three and Jacob Bianchi, Chadd Bauman, Jake Brown, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each.

Fort Erie could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Meteors put an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game. Fort Erie found itself short handed often, totaling 44 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

Mark Sinclair recorded 21 saves for Caledonia. Riley Daniels made 39 saves for the Meteors on 48 shots.
