Leamington rolls over Lambton Shores, 7-2

The Leamington Flyers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Mitchell Amante had two goals and one assist to lead Leamington. Amante scored the first of his two goals at 3:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. Scott Emerson picked up the assist. Amante's next tally made the score 3-0 Leamington with 49 seconds left in the first period. J.P. Grineau assisted on the tally.

The Flyers kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Keegan Paulette made 36 saves on 43 shots. Leamington surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Flyers average 4.2 goals per contest.

Leamington additionally got points from Cale Phibbs, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Emerson, who also registered two goals and two assists to lead the team in points, and Mark Gangnon, who also had one goal and one assist. Leamington also got a goal from Colin Moore as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Scott Florence, who had two and Joe Urbanic, Luke Sanko, and Brendan McGhee, who each chipped in one.

The Predators found themselves short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays.

Leamington's Tyler Wall stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Lambton Shores registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
