Stratford wins tough contest against Brampton, 5-3

The game between the Stratford Cullitons and the Brampton Bombers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Stratford emerged with a 5-3 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Hayden Broomhead at 18:18 of the second period.

The Cullitons got the win behind a great game by Broomhead, who had two goals and one assist.

Brampton was unable to stop Stratford from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cullitons eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Stratford additionally got points from Joe Leahy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Tyson Baker, who also had one goal and one assist. Dylan Lebold also scored for Stratford. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Jack Scanlan, who had two and Cooper Stahl, Deven Kropf, and Jared Nash, who contributed one each.

The Bombers found themselves short handed often, totaling 28 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Brampton was helped by Brad Bollert, who registered one goal. Bollert scored 3:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brampton. Yianni Liarakos picked up the assist. Brampton also got points from Jordan Oshowy, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brampton also got a goal from Jordan Kreller as well. In addition, Brampton received assists from Joseph Spina, Lucas Goodman, and Carmine Vietri, who each chipped in one.

Carson Poulin rejected 15 shots on goal for Stratford. The Cullitons incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Bombers' Jason Rhynold stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Brampton registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
